In this webinar, gardening journalist, editor and trainer Kim Stoddart explores the co-benefits of working with wildlife and improving biodiversity on your garden veg patch or community green space.
The recording was made 4 February 2021 at the time of the live webinar.
Kim explains how the natural world holds so many of the answers when it comes to building greater resilience for people, plate and planet. Working with wildlife to build a natural biodiversity (above and below ground) enables lower maintenance, more sustainable and climate change savvy food production all-round. A veg patch that is truly alive (rather than meticulously controlled) can also offer many benefits for wellbeing, with the site and sounds of nature taking your gardening to a whole new level of connection and enjoyment.
This webinar was run in partnership with The National Botanic Garden of Wales as part of their Growing the Future project. Growing the Future is a five-year project to champion Welsh horticulture, plants for pollinators, the protection of wildlife and the virtues of growing plants for food, fun, health and well-being.
From practical building tips to in-depth explorations of how we can rise to the climate emergency, our newly developed webinars, online short courses and online events cover a wide range of topics relating to sustainability.
