Seed Saving Day

Home » Seed Saving Day

Join us for a day of exploring saving, drying and storing seeds, and the benefits of growing heritage seed varieties.

One half of the day will be based here in the CAT Organic Gardens and the other half in the one of CAT’s woodland areas.

This short course is perfect for anyone with a keen interest in learning how to save and store their own seed from vegetables, fruits, cultivated garden flowers, wildflowers and trees.

During the course we’ll start demystifying seed saving, giving tips on where’s a good place to start and what plants to initially avoid. We’ll then look around the CAT site at examples of crops we save the seeds from and have a go at collecting and preserving seeds from a variety of species.

By the end of the day, you’ll have gained the knowledge and experience to start collecting and saving seeds regardless of the size of your garden.
