In this webinar, environmental consultant, author and guest lecturer at CAT’s Graduate School of the Environment, Callum Hill discusses whether circular economies can really provide the answer to sustainable societies.

The recording was made 14 April 2021 at the time of the live webinar.

Circular economies

When choosing materials we must consider the environmental, economic and social consequences of their extraction and use. Circular economy is a popular talking point in sustainable initiatives to combat some of these issues, but does it really provide the answer?

In this webinar, Callum will explore the link between economic growth and resource consumption, asking: can we ever get off the treadmill? Focusing on the use of materials in economies, Callum will consider whether we are running out of resources and the consequences of resource use on the ability of the environment to cope.
