Mark Adams
Trustee
Mark is committed to working towards a more just society nationally and internationally, and a future where humankind lives sustainably within our planetary boundaries. Mark is a Chartered Accountant and has extensive experience in financial matters and Board governance.
Mark graduated with a physics degree from Oxford University in the late 1980s, and subsequently went on to qualify and work as a Chartered Accountant. He enjoyed a 35-year career in London and internationally as a finance sector professional in industry and professional practice.
Since retiring as a partner in the firm of Deloitte LLP in 2013, Mark has spent a number of years as a non-executive director, including roles at not-for-profit organisations. Mark has been Chair of Audit and Risk committees, and has extensive experience and interest in governance, financial reporting, financial planning, risk management and internal audit.
In addition to a lifelong love of his native Wales, Mark has always lived with a passion and desire to be connected with nature on land, and on or under the sea. Over the years this love of nature has developed into an increasing concern for the impact humankind is having on our climate and eco systems.
Mark has been actively involved with volunteering at local Wildlife Trusts, water testing on local rivers, and political campaigning on environmental issues.
Mark is excited to be able to use his experience and skills to contribute to CAT’s continuing success in inspiring the next generation to live in a sustainable way, and informing communities on how to achieve sustainable living in a social just way.
