Jack Howard

CAT Graduate

Upon handing in his MSc Green Building dissertation, Jack started a new position as a Technical Advisor with Partel, a company specialising in producing and supplying high-performance energy systems for the low-impact building industry.

Before taking up his studies at CAT, Jack’s undergraduate degree was in 3D furniture and product design, and he worked in construction. Having been aware of CAT for nearly 10 years before attending an online open day, he decided to focus on his passions for construction and for sustainability, and there was no better place to do that than at CAT on the MSc in Green Building!

CAT has had a profound impact, not just on my career, but on the way I see the world. Studying through the full-time pathway, the learning was so immersive, and the amount of knowledge gained in a relatively short amount of time was staggering. The people at CAT, both staff and students, are also a fundamental part of what makes CAT so wonderful.

The holistic approach to learning provided him with the ability to confidently discuss a variety of topics surrounding sustainability and adaptation in the built environment, alongside the technical knowledge and hands-on practical experience.

Since joining Partel, Jack has become a certified Passive House Consultant and now works on a multitude of projects around the country, investigating thermal performance, condensation risk analysis, thermal bridge solutions and material specification.
