Damien is a Professor of Human Rights and Environmental Justice, has worked with a wide variety of NGOs and other organisations, and has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
Damien Short (Trustee) is Professor of Human Rights and Environmental Justice and Co-Director of the Environmental Humanities Research Hub at the School of Advanced Study, University of London. He has spent his entire professional career working in the field of human rights and environmental justice, both as a scholar and advocate. Damien has worked with a variety of NGOs including Amnesty International, Survival International, Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace. He regularly consults for local and national governments, and international organisations like the United Nations on the social and environmental harms of unsustainable energy extraction processes. He has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and the importance of education in that quest. He is therefore delighted to be a CAT Trustee!
