Join us at CAT on Saturday 19th August for a family-friendly open day to celebrate our 50th anniversary – with free entry all day.
Throughout the day, we’ll have hands-on activities, workshops, talks, tours, storytelling, music and more as we come together with friends old and new to celebrate this incredible milestone.
A wide range of family-friendly workshops will allow visitors of all ages to get to grips with renewable energy, green building, nature ID and more, whilst talks and tours will bring the CAT site to life.
Family-friendly workshops
Budding engineers can experiment with wind power, hydro and solar with our education team, testing out different approaches and learning more about clean energy sources.
Meanwhile, lecturers from CAT’s Graduate School will be helping aspiring architects and builders to get creative in ‘Architects of the Future’ workshops, or to get stuck in to some hands-on green building activities and woodland crafts.
Families can explore future worlds in ‘Bold Futures’ workshops – imagining what they would like the world to be like in 10, 20, 50 years’ time, and how we can make it happen.
Nature spotting
Moreover, throughout the day nature-lovers of all ages can explore acres of woodland trails and wild spaces and hone their nature-spotting skills with CAT’s wildlife rangers – there will be pond dipping and insect ID, plus the chance to take a closer look at microscopic worlds.
