Join our annual CAT Conference for talks and workshops exploring the skills and knowledge needed to take action for a safer, healthier and fairer future. Spend a summer weekend at our beautiful eco-centre in August 2025, making new connections with like-minded people.
Bring your skills, ideas and experience to this special summer CAT Conference, and participate in a weekend of learning together, as a community, to tackle the climate and nature crisis.
Programme Highlights
- Catch up with pioneering renewable energy company and CAT spinout Dulas to hear how their solar-powered vaccine fridges continue to save lives around the world – with Dulas Executive Managing Director (and CAT graduate) Ruth Chapman and her colleague Catherine McLennan, Commercial Lead.
- “What good are science and rational persuasion if no one is paying attention?” Special guest Sir Jonathon Porritt, author and environmentalist, will explore what we can do and talks about his next book, ‘Love, Anger & Betrayal’, co-created with 26 young climate activists bringing attention to the crisis we all share, as they fight for a safer future.
- Be guided by guest lecturer Jean Boulton on the art of ‘thinking big and acting small’. Reflect on how we can work to create local resilience, while taking into consideration big global shifts, national public policy, as well as what we do locally.
- Get hands on with sustainable building materials in an Earth Building workshop with CAT’s Sustainable Materials Ranger
- Join an immersive and practical woodland management tour, through CAT’s Coed Gwern woodlands. Learn about biodiversity, conservation, and community involvement as well as wildlife monitoring, and enhancing woodland value.
- Take a guided tour of CAT’s new 50kW solar-powered EV container unit, set up in partnership with Bro Dyfi Renewables, and Dulas. Learn how it supports Ynni Cymru’s mission to empower Welsh communities through locally owned renewable energy, promoting community-driven solutions for a greener, self-sufficient Wales, right from CAT’s eco-centre.
- Join a Q&A with some of CAT’s inspiring graduates who have been equipped with the skills and knowledge to create change across a range of industries – from green building, to architecture and climate change communication.
- Seasonal vegetarian food, live music, stunning natural surroundings, and a Saturday night Ceilidh.
