Join CAT students on the Masters in Sustainable Architecture course for a day of willow weaving as part of their build project with Mostyn Gallery and the National Gallery.
CAT students are working with Mostyn Gallery, Llandudno and the National Gallery, London to design and build a structure that will be part of The Triumph of Art, taking place in Trafalgar Square this summer.
This event is part of The Triumph of Art, a nation-wide project by artist Jeremy Deller. It was commissioned by the National Gallery, London, as part of NG200, its Bicentenary celebrations. The Triumph of Art is being developed in partnership with Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee, Mostyn in Llandudno, The Box in Plymouth and The Playhouse in Derry-Londonderry. Supported by Art Fund.
On the day, we will be weaving willow using simple techniques. The resulting woven frames will form part of the roof of the structure we will be displaying in Trafalgar Square.
