Change of hands for the Chair of CAT’s Board of Trustees
February 22, 2022Home » Change of hands for the Chair of CAT’s Board of Trustees
Mick Taylor will be stepping down as the Chair of our Board of Trustees at the end of March, with Sally Carr moving from Vice Chair as his replacement.
During his decade as Chair, Mick has played a pivotal role in the development of our governance, management and strategic direction. Mick’s guidance has helped CAT go from strength to strength, which has placed us in a much stronger position from which to increase our impact and influence.
On announcing his departure, Mick said:
“It has been an incredible privilege to be part of this unique organisation at a time when its work on environmental solutions is so absolutely vital. I’m very proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to seeing CAT play an ever more important role in helping equip people with the skills, knowledge and inspiration to build a better future.”
Although he is departing as Chair, Mick will still be involved with the organisation in an advisory capacity and as an independent member of the steering group overseeing our development plans.
Eileen Kinsman, Co-CEO said:
“We really cannot thank Mick enough for everything he has achieved in his time as Chair. CAT Trustees do an incredible amount of work behind the scenes – all in a voluntary capacity. We would not be where we are today without the commitment and dedication of such an amazing group of Trustees, and Mick has been at the heart of this for many years.”
Our current Vice Chair, Sally Carr, will step into the role of Chair and Andrew Pearman will become the new Vice Chair.
Sally spent many years at CAT prior to her role as a Trustee, volunteering and leading teams of volunteers, and most recently heading up our Fundraising and Membership department until her retirement in 2019. She will bring her extensive experience in leadership, development training, team-building and coaching to her new position as Chair, helping us continue our vital work giving people the skills, knowledge and confidence to implement solutions to the climate and biodiversity crises.
On her new position, Sally said:
“I am really looking forward to taking on this new role with CAT, especially at such an exciting time for the organisation. I have been involved with CAT for many years, and stepping into the role of Chair will allow me to continue to help shape the direction of the charity as our work to tackle the climate crisis becomes ever more urgent and necessary.”
Andrew Pearman has been a Trustee of CAT since 2019. He has a background in IT project management in the energy and utility sector, including working with the National Grid and international governments as they began to switch to renewable energy.
We will also be saying goodbye to Rosie Plummer, who has been a CAT Trustee for close to six years and has contributed invaluable expertise in support of CAT’s mission.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Mick, Rosie and all of our Trustees for everything they have done for CAT over the years.
