Recognising co-benefits of climate action

Resource Hub General EmissionsCommunity Research Report
Zero Carbon Britain Logo

Research exploring how action on climate change is relevant to UK public concerns, and associated government priorities.

Governments must decarbonise while meeting other key objectives, such as the provision of healthcare and public services and maintaining stable economic growth. The challenge of meeting competing objectives is often exacerbated by the nature of the political cycle, where key objectives tend to be traded off against each other.

This research draws on literature from multiple academic disciplines to explore how action on climate change is relevant to:

  • Health and the NHS
  • Immigration and security
  • The economy and unemployment
  • Poverty, housing and inequality
