Based in Cardiff, Simon was previously Director of Economic Infrastructure at Welsh Government where he led on transport and telecommunications. His 8 years in the civil service followed 20 years working for Atkins, the international engineering consultancy.

Simon is proud to have led GCRE from its inception.  GCRE is rooted in both the Welsh Government’s Well Being of Future Generations Act and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.  As well as being the UK’s first Net Zero railway, GCRE will embed circular economy, sustainable economic regeneration, improved public transport and enhanced bio-diversity.  GCRE is a beacon of sustainability in action, closely aligned with the values of CAT.
