Elizabeth Adams has worked in energy and infrastructure for over twenty years and is a long-time supporter of CAT.

Elizabeth Adams is a Partner at FTI Consulting, leading its global energy transition advisory in the area of strategic communications. Being a geographer by background has shaped her desire to better connect people and knowledge across wide ranging disciplines and reduce siloed thinking. Elizabeth also has a Masters in International Economic Law with a focus on global education programmes.

She has worked in energy and infrastructure communications for over twenty years – as an energy and economics journalist, corporate affairs lead, and advisor. Her clients include renowned international clean energy developers and energy intensive industrial companies, as well as institutional and state-backed investors whom she supports to navigate the complexity of international energy markets and regulation. Areas of focus include decarbonisation, electrification, grid connections, market design, supply chain and community engagement. Elizabeth provides advice on strategy, capital-raising, issues management, story-telling and thought leadership.

She believes in pragmatic approaches to society’s most complex challenges, not least to accelerate change. Central to that may be the need to accept trade-offs in order to move forward, versus trying to achieve consensus around often polarised ‘ideal’ outcomes.  Effective communication enables movement by sharing facts and dispelling fiction, bridging diverse perspectives on value, and bringing people on journeys together.

Elizabeth is a long-time supporter of CAT and finally had the opportunity to visit the centre in 2022 when she brought her team for two days of workshops and was inspired and curious in equal measures, something she hopes to harness helpfully as a Trustee.
