Please note that all CAT students studying on UEL courses in 2024-25 will continue to follow the UEL Academic Regulations Framework for 2023-24 due to late changes being made after the academic year started.
What fee structure you are on can depend on when you enrolled at CAT, see the Fees Terms and Conditions from your enrolment. Some parts of the Terms and Conditions are updated annually so please see these in the continuing students documents below.
For new students enrolling on the courses in September 2025, please find more information on our Fees and Funding page.
Disabled Students’ Allowance is extra funding to help higher education students with learning difficulties, health problems or disabilities. The type of support and how much you get depends on your individual needs – not your household income, and can support costs for specialist equipment, non-medical helpers including notetakers or BSL interpreters, travel, or other related study support including printing additional copies of documents for proof-reading.
We encourage applicants to declare additional learning needs and/or disabilities when you apply so that we can send appropriate information about funding, and support can be offered to you at the earliest opportunity.
Josh Browne Hardship Fund
Current students at CAT are invited to apply to the Josh Browne Hardship Fund for an interest free loan to help cover tuition costs. Applications to the fund typically open in December.
Our courses are created and delivered by CAT’s Graduate School and validated by partner institutions. This means you will receive an internationally recognised degree from either the University of East London or Liverpool John Moores University and CAT.
Both partners follow different processes to ensure you receive your degree certificate. Students should keep CAT Student Support updated with any changes to their contact details and addresses so their certificates can be posted correctly.
University of East London (UEL) validated courses:
UEL will issue transcripts of results to students and award certificates to successful students on their programmes. Degree certificates are awarded by UEL and sent to CAT for distribution to students by post.
Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) validated courses:
LJMU usually produce their degree certificates a minimum of 12 weeks after results are published. These certificates will then be posted directly to the address on record for the student.
Graduation:
Upon completion of an award, students are invited to attend a graduation ceremony at CAT to celebrate their achievements. The ceremony is usually held annually in July at CAT with invites sent out after the October and January assessment boards. For those completing studies and being awarded at the June assessment board, a provisional invite will be sent around Easter and is dependent on your final marks being confirmed in June.
Students will also be invited to attend a Graduation Ceremony directly with their awarding University. Any arrangements for attending these are issued directly from either UEL or LJMU and are sent to the student’s personal email addresses which they provided upon enrolment.
As a recognised Higher Education Provider offering courses awarded by the University of East London and Liverpool John Moores University, we are reviewed by the Quality Assurance Agency.
The QAA review, along with student feedback, provides us with useful information to ensure that we continue to deliver a high-quality education.
