Free Webinar – Sustainable materials and the circular economy

Home » Free Webinar – Sustainable materials and the circular economy

Join us for the next in our series of free online webinars. On 14 April, environmental consultant, author and guest lecturer at CAT’s Graduate School of the Environment, Callum Hill, will discuss whether circular economies can really provide the answer to sustainable societies.

This spring’s free webinars feature our Graduate School lecturers, partners and guest speakers, introducing a wide range of sustainability topics, from horticulture and circular economies to energy and housing.

Circular economies

When choosing materials we must consider the environmental, economic and social consequences of their extraction and use. Circular economy is a popular talking point in sustainable initiatives to combat some of these issues, but does it really provide the answer?

In this webinar, Callum will explore the link between economic growth and resource consumption, asking: can we ever get off the treadmill? Focusing on the use of materials in economies, Callum will consider whether we are running out of resources and the consequences of resource use on the ability of the environment to cope.
